Salt Lake City, Utah- (ABC 4 Utah) – A local businessman is hoping to be the first democratic governor in our state in more than 30 years. Mike Weinholtz is a political new comer, but he’s a successful businessman and has taken an active role in serving our community with various organizations.
CHG Healthcare Services is the company Weinholtz co-founded in 1998. On Friday it was the setting as he launched a new journey in life. “Today I am announcing my intention to run for governor of the great state of Utah,” said Weinholtz.
Current CHG CEO, Scott Beck, Salt Lake County District Attorney, Sim Gill and State Senator, Jim Dabakis stood at his side. “Michael has Mitt Romney’s business brain and Mother Teresa’s compassion brain,” said Dabakis, (D) Salt Lake City.
His business brain helped CHG become the largest provider of temporary physician staffing services in the country. It employs 2000 people and does $1 billion in annual revenue.
